Produced by Addressograph-Multigraph (AM) in the 1970s for their phototypesetting machine. A knock-off of Optima, differentiated by its quote marks and stroke extensions at the top of ‘A’ and inside of the ‘Q’. [Mark Simonson]
Digitized as Chlmsford [sic] by The Font Company (©1990, 6 weights plus italics, used for the sample). Devroye credits it to URW. URW still sells a variation for engraving named DTC Chelmsford 4-line, made by Volker Schnebel in 1995.
