Charme and Slogan are very popular with restaurants in general and Italian food places in particular. Here are two pizza-flavored variations on the underrated theme of the type specimen plate. It looks as if the one shown below is derived from the one at the top: After the painted pizza slice had been surgically removed, the space was filled by uninspiredly repeating some of the pizza names.

Charme was designed by Helmut Matheis in 1957. Matheis just turned 100. Learn more about this German typeface designer, calligrapher and lettering artist on the Fust & Friends website. To celebrate the centenary, a digitization of one of his typefaces, Presto, is made available for free.
