Poster for the performance of Camille Saint-Saëns’ opera Samson et Dalila at the Vilniaus kongresų rūmai (Vilnius Congress Hall), directed by Dalia Ibelhauptaitė and conducted by Gintaras Rinkevičius.

For the poster design, Tadas Karpavicius combines a painting by Andrius Zakarauskas with white type in Bluu Next. The names are set big and bigger, with mid-word linebreaks, connected by “ir” (and) in Bluu Next’s upright italic. The dates (“gruodžio” is Lithuanian for December) are outlined. Moderat is used for smaller elements.

Originally issued with Velvetyne Type Foundry in a single bold weight in 2013, Jean-Baptiste Morizot’s Bluu was first revised in 2014 as Bluu Next. In December 2017 Black [Foundry] released a redrawn and extended version in four weights plus (sloping) italics as Bluu Suuperstar.
