Del Shannon – “Tell Her No” / “Restless” German single cover
Frankfurter and Le Griffe, two Letraset classics in use on the sleeve of a German single by Del Shannon, released in 1975 on Island Records.
On the A side, Del delivers a definitive take on the Zombies classic “Tell Her No”, smoothing it way down, singing with so much soul, so much power. Del had so much power.

Unlike in the Belgian shop sign posted by Christopher, Le Griffe’s terminal swash forms here were used in more appropriate places, i.e. at the end of words. One can debate whether the swash ‘l’ followed by the swash ‘S’ is still a little too much. The original glyph set also included unswashed variants, but maybe they were all used up already?

You’d better use the swash variants whenever there’s an end of word, so you don’t use up all your non-swash variants right as a Belgian shop asks you to make a sign.
