Peter Haars

Norwegian graphic designer, illustrator and writer, 1940–2005. Born in Nuremberg, Germany, and educated at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Hamburg, Haars moved to Norway in 1962. Designed nearly 300 book covers for publishers Pax and Gyldendal. Co-founder of the Norwegian Association of Illustrators (the precursor of Grafill) in 1983. In 1987, he became the first professor of graphic design and illustration at the State Academy of Art and Design in Oslo.
