A Swiss firm active in the mid 20th century, Neue Didot Schriftgiesserei mainly sold type originating at other foundries. [Specimens] [Muzika 1965] “The com­pany had star­ted oper­a­tions in 1947, with a primary focus on cast­ing foundry type from Mono­type draw­ings for the Swiss market. From their small fact­ory in Mut­tenz, out­side Basel, they also dis­trib­uted type by the German foundries Wagner, Bauer and Weber. And they cut their own, unli­cenced ver­sion of Ber­thold’s Akzidenz-Grotesk and Libri-Grotesk [an alias of Bücher-Grotesk]”. Taken over by Johannes Wagner in 1961. [Wälchli & Windlin]
