A Swiss firm active in the mid 20th century, Neue Didot Schriftgiesserei mainly sold type originating at other foundries. [Specimens] [Muzika 1965] “The company had started operations in 1947, with a primary focus on casting foundry type from Monotype drawings for the Swiss market. From their small factory in Muttenz, outside Basel, they also distributed type by the German foundries Wagner, Bauer and Weber. And they cut their own, unlicenced version of Berthold’s Akzidenz-Grotesk and Libri-Grotesk [an alias of Bücher-Grotesk]”. Taken over by Johannes Wagner in 1961. [Wälchli & Windlin]
