In 2007, the University of Chicago in cooperation with the Hoover Institution and other benefactors issued this new, “definitive” edition of Friedrich Hayek’s The Road to Serfdom including extensive additional material for context shedding light on the profound impact of this work: two prefaces, two forewords, two introductions, six appendices, acknowledgments, and an index, though no Knopfesque “Note On The Type.”
