How to deal with post-war office towers? How can their cultural value be preserved for today’s uses? This book presents successful strategies and concepts for the revitalization of office towers from the 1950s and 60s. The authors address both urban planning and historic preservation aspects. Five high-rise buildings in Nuremberg, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Berlin are documented, and their refurbishment is comprehensively described – from structural to physical and technical solutions.
