My interest in typography stems from my early exposure to the post-punk era of British music packaging. Seeing covers produced under the auspices of Factory Records and later, 4AD et al. stirred an interest in the use of type with photography.
Eventually I began doing editorial photography and publishing an arts quarterly called Vancouver Review which continues today as Vancouver Review Media which is a free access, locally-focused arts blog of sorts. I have worked with Marian Bantjes, Shelley Gruendler, Brian Morgan and Tiro Typeworks, all of whom have contributed immeasurably to my appreciation and understanding of the origins, importance and use of fonts and typography as a whole.
I do some design work for local clients though I don't market myself as a designer. Mostly I do CD covers, the odd book cover and posters for music.
