Part of a series of romans that originated at the Haenel foundry. Cast as Ganz fette Antiqua in Petit, Cicero, Tertia (before 1833), Nonpareille (1836), and Perl (before 1843) sizes. Haenel’s punchcutter Krumwiede might have been the first to cut a Fat Face in text sizes. Acquired by many German foundries, incl. Trennert (before 1834). The original matrices were acquired by Klingspor in 1918, as part of the Gronau foundry. Klingspor issued a recut in 1931. Some of the glyphs are different across the sizes. [Bertheau]
