An italic Egyptian with descending decorative swirls on the caps. Patented in February 1874 by Richard Smith (an executive of MacKellar, Smiths & Jordan) and assigned to the corporation [USPTO D007154]. [Type Heritage Project] Later shown as Italic Ornate. [1885 catalog]
