Designed by Frederic W. Goudy in 1916, Goudy Cursive basically is Goudy Italic (see Goudy Oldstyle) with a number of swash glyphs. When Goudy Bold Italic (1919) was adopted for the Monotype in 1928, Sol Hess added a series of cursive capitals and terminals. [McGrew 1993] Other sources give a 1923 date. [McMurtrie]
Tom Carnase’s WTC Goudy (1982) includes swash forms in all four italic weights. These were digitized by URW as Goudy Swash.
Lanston Type Company has a digitization of the two original weights as Goudy Cursive. Also included as subset of LTC Goudy Oldstyle. There is also OPTI Goudy Cursive (Castcraft, 1990–1991).
