Designed by Tuvia Aharoni and issued in 1935 in two weights by
Ludwig & Mayer in Frankfurt as an Hebrew counterpart to
Erbar-Grotesk (whose numerals were used). It was
produced exclusively for the newly emerged market in Mandatory
Palestine as part of the Haavara-Transfer
Agreement that was in effect between 1933 and 1939. A new cut
was available from Moshe Spitzer’s Jerusalem Type Foundry.
