Humans Grotesk was developed by Carrois Apostrophe Berlin in cooperation with Raffael Stücken and Thorsten Kozik for their agency Humans & Machines.

It is a linear grotesque typeface. Stylistically close to Post Grotesk (which was Thorsten’s favorite before he saw the drafts for Humans Grotesk), it also shows clear and purposeful similarities to Akzidenz-Grotesk. Humans Grotesk comes in two weights which exactly meet Humans & Machines’ needs.

While the custom Humans Grotesk is exclusive to Humans & Machines, we realized that there is more potential to it. Consequently, we and Humans & Machines decided to modify and extend it to a big retail typeface family named Belbo.
