The Museum of Sex, also known as MoSex, is a museum in Manhattan, New York City. From February 8, 2007 to January 20, 2008, it hosted the exhibition Kink: Geography of the Erotic Imagination. The show that mapped all kinds of fetishes was curated by Katharine Gates, the noted sex academic and author of Deviant Desires: Incredibly Strange Sex, together with the museum’s In-house Curator Sarah Forbes and Assistant Curator Elizabeth Mariko Murray.

Pentagram designed the exhibition graphics and cleverly picked Omnes Black Italic, the juiciest style of the Omnes family by Darden Studio. When design critic Armin Vit saw what Jennifer Kinon and Michael Bierut had created with Omnes, he was seduced by its curves. In his pick for Typographica’s Favorite Typefaces of the Year, he gave it a rave review:

If you can look at Omnes Black Italic and not feel joy, you have Yoohoo running through your veins and you should get that checked. […] Omnes Black Italic is […] unbelievably kinky, especially when set in hot magenta.
