I designed this poster as part of the 2018 suite of graphics that were released by The Salvation Army Australia Southern Territory for Pentecost. I decided to use a nostalgic tone that references a roughly 1980s feel without being too slavish to the period. I chose Marvin Visions, supported by House Slant and Bookmania as I felt they all worked well together in this context and added to the feeling I was aiming for. Heavy processing in Photoshop, which includes using a scan I made from book that is about 100 years old, helped to cement the design for me.
