For his installation Forever Immigrant, Marco Godinho uses Perec (designed by Alejandro Lo Celso, PampaType, 2010).
The video above shows the realization made on May 18th and 19th 2015 as part of the exhibition Tous le chemins mènent à Schengen (“All roads lead to Schengen”). With the help of Issaka Koanda and Erdzam Estani. In partnership with CADA Rosselange, ISM-Est and CASAM. Video directed by Diana Pallas. Music by Stealing Orchestra & Rafael Dionísio.
A multitude of black ink stamps are juxtaposed, superimposed, in order to paint a shape in a gradient of gray, irregular, fluid, vaporous which runs on the whole of the facade and which extends on the interior walls of the Sucrière. When approaching, we find that the stamp, which is not larger than the size of an inch, is composed of two words: Forever Immigrant. Forever Immigrant is an in situ work produced by the artist and his “collaborators” which took three weeks to complete and resulted from more than two million stamps.
