Poster designed by Herb Lubalin in 1965, to promote a set of award-winning typefaces from VGC. This poster is set in Basilea, by Markus J. Low. The series used the typefaces to typeset quotes from famous individuals in history. Each poster graphically illustrated the idea of the text in a classic Lubalin gesture, making type into concepts. The National Type Face Design Competition was sponsored by Visual Graphics Corporation, the manufacturer of the Photo Typositor. The text along the bottom of the poster credits the Typositor typography to Aaron Burns & Company, division of Rapid Typographers, Inc. And the printing was done by Drum Lithographers, Inc.
