Philidelphia-based streetwear brand and design studio @allcapstudio’s LUMUMBA collection.

Inspired by one of the founder’s favorite songs, “Sing With the Birds,” by Duke Lumumba, the LUMUMBA collection is a visual translation of the Ghanian trumpeter’s blend of American soul and jazz with traditional African rhythms.

At least some of the photography is by Ian Shiver.

    1. The words that Saeed Ferguson used here are taken from the lyrics of “Sing with the Birds”, the opening track from Lumumba’s self-titled album released in 1974:

      Open your eyes
      Look into the skies
Let a song man tell you how it is to live
      Life is peace
      Life is love
      Stop talking about peace
      Make peace
      Stop talking about love
      Make love

All through history truthful men are shot, chased out, imprisoned, crucified, hanged, ridiculed
      What is it? […]

      Sing with the birds
      Peace to you all
      I wish you love
      I wish you peace
