In October 2020 the honorable Grassi Museum in Leipzig presented an exhibition on the subject of the world of fantastic creatures, Fantastische Tierwelten.

Commissioned by the museum, designer and illustrator Henrik Rossbander created an expressive illustration and a distinct lettering for the word “Fantastische”, paired with Whyte Inktrap by Dinamo. Single letters were also used in combination with Whyte Inktrap on a postcard and the digital invitation flyer, mixing the characteristics of the two typefaces seamlessly.

The playful visualization is based on low-quality photographic imagery provided by the institution. Turning the given material into a promising mixed media artwork I developed a strong key image promoting the collection of fantastic worlds and mythical creatures from different cultures.
