Dress.Code.

Empowering women and non-binary folks through radical self-expression. Dress.Code. is a series of 112 portraits reflecting on the societal scrutiny of women and non-binary individual’s self-expression and physical form. It is a body of work visualizing our fragmented identities in the process of adapting to those who seek to define us. Each individual is captured through portraiture and written reflections shared on an online gallery created as a space to celebrate our individualism and shared experiences. We are a diverse community declaring space as our own, defining our identities and deciding our own dress code.

Neue Helvetica was used to capture the modern, informative, bold aesthetic of Dress.Code. With so much content to pour over, Neue Helvetica lends itself to structured design, almost encyclopedic in nature as each individual is profiled. The typeface also pairs well with the stark portraiture, leaning into the contemporary gallery look and feel.
