This record with songs by the Ronettes was released in 1975 as the first volume of the 9 LP vinyl “Wall Of Sound” box set, completed in 1981. Although titled “Greatest Hits”, it’s a re-release of the Ronettes’ first studio album from 1964, with a reproduction of the original cover, surrounded by photographs and newspaper clippings.

The band name is shown in Zebra. This innovative script has letterforms that are half solid and half shaded. Designed by Karlgeorg Hoefer, it was first cast by the Stempel foundry in 1965. VGC adopted it for phototypesetting around 1973.

Cover design by Grant Smith, with art direction from Ian Murray.
