BAM Next Wave Festival ’22 (concept)
Dinamo’s Monument Grotesk in use for a conceptual redesign of the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Next Wave festival. A student project, completed in the graphic design MFA program at the Maryland Institute College of Art (Baltimore, MD).
The pamphlet was designed with multiple applications across print and digital in mind. Images here feature a reworked cover design/event branding, lead-in spread, as well as a representative interior spread for one of the festival’s events. Programming and copy were repurposed from past Next Wave festivals.
Monument Grotesk is used throughout in bold and heavy cuts. The typography is intended to appeal to younger audiences, formatted without a grid. Emoji, speech-bubble-like text boxes and a CMYK color palette come together to embody BAM as an institution that pushes boundaries and subverts norms.
