Behrens-Schrift (1901) in five different sizes, for an ad for “Bennopillen” on the back of a trading picture, probably from the first decade of the twentieth century. Bennopillen are praised a “excellent home remedy, proven thousands of times.” Produced by Voit & Comp. in Munich, they contained gentian and rhubarb as active ingredients. The drug was recommended for constipation and hemorrhoids, blood purification, gout and obesity.

The typeface by Peter Behrens is used with long ſ and round s, the standard ligatures for ch, and both forms for H, see “Hämorrhoiden” (line 2) vs. “Hausmittel” (line 6).
