Les Papesses art catalog
London-based design practice Common Kind have designed the catalog for Les Papesses, a private collection (Lucia Pesapane) of artworks celebrating contemporary female artists. The client specifically requested to work with a female curator and graphic designer to produce the volume. The challenge was to create an object that could adapt to contain her ever-growing private collection, displayed in her beautiful Tuscan villa. The solution was to create a bespoke cloth bound portfolio box with interchangeable inner platforms. The color palette was chosen to compliment the client’s brightly colored interior, whilst the large format makes for an unapologetic statement.
In keeping with the project’s intention to utilise only female/afab contributors, Common Kind chose Bastardo Grotesk from Giulia Boggio. Printed by Lunch Press.
