This project discusses how community boundaries shape the identity of international students. Boundaries are a double-edged sword for international students. We international student receive emotional security of a “border” from our own community, but we are rejected or even disrespected by the “border” of another community. Caught between two cultures, international students under cultural conflict are vulnerable to marginalization.
I record the addition and discarding of items in the switching of apartments before and after going abroad. Aside from this, also discussing how I gradually accept the new culture and change my understanding of my native culture by observing the changes in the value of items in my hometown during the move. It belongs to the state of integrating culture.
