Graphic design and production of Musée Bourdelle’s guide published by Paris Musées at the occasion of its re-opening in March 2023. The values of the margins, the density of the running text block and the format create a tense relationship between full and empty, two notions cherished by sculptor Antoine Bourdelle.
The fonts in use are Mercure by Charles Mazé (Abyme, 2021) and Antique Legacy by François Rappo (Optimo, 2020). Chapter openings use Mercure’s Transcript style, a set of fixed-width signs and symbols for the transcriptions of Latin inscriptions into print with fragmented, false, broken or missing letters.
