Tokyo indie rock band Roth Bart Baron is throwing their fourth summer concert name Bear Night in summer 2023. For the poster and flyers of the concert, Berlin-based graphic designer and illustrator Claudia Schramke created a bear mascot declined in different positions. After her identities for Berlinale festival issues 2021 and 2022, this is not the first dabble of Schramke in the representation of the emblem animal of her mother city.
Christoph Koeberlin’s NaN Tresor is used for all information in the Latin script. The idiosyncracies of Tresor and its delicately antiquated shapes double down on Schramke’s illustrations and her use of printing textures, giving almost a vintage woodcut or etching tone to the whole, if not for the definitely contemporary fluo colours. Japanese text is set in Kozuka Gothic.
