Tennis Club de St-Priest
TCSP is the tennis and padel club of Saint-Priest in the region of Lyon, France. Since 50 years the club offers a rich and diversified range of activities for all enthusiasts. I worked on the new identity which had to convey both the club’s values (welcoming, family, team spirit, sharing) and the dynamism of the represented sports (tennis and padel). I therefore oriented the work towards a quick and easy reminder of their initials while playing on the ball movement, a common aspect of padel and tennis. Every detail has been re-worked to take up the diagonal ball’s trajectory via the typographic choices and the negative space. The ball crosses the typography to slip right on the line. Game, set, and match!
Chosen for its sporty, slender and dynamic qualities, Mars Condensed knows how to capture the space! As the main typeface of the club’s identity, it allowed me various shapes inside the logo like the ball crossing letters to finish on the line of the C – each ending of the letter is shaped to keep this surrounding in the details of the logo and to underpin the dynamic side of sport.
Lexend Deca is the secondary typeface. Through its great presence and curves, it recalls the familiar and unifying side of the club, while contrasting with Mars.
