Focussing on patternmaking which works against a binary gender mindset, Stickann provides pieces that include all types of genders and bodies. Whereas unisex fashion mostly focusses on the typical “female” or the typical “manly” body, Stickann aims to include those individuals that don’t consider themselves as one of the two binary genders.
STICKANN is a brand for the odd ones.
We create fashion to express ourselves beyond gender norms.
To contradict the stereotypical.
Typographically representing the brand’s intention, Funs Kurstjens from the Cologne-based design studio OOOZ and founder Jonas Stickann are using Grand Slang by Nikolas Type for the name branding on the clothing and various designs, alternating between all-caps Grand Slang Roman and B-Side. Sometimes it’s B-Side, sometimes Roman, but always unmistakingly Grand Slang, reflecting the ideosyncratic and human approach of Stickann.
