Hard hitting… Ebony Magazine editor examines “Black Establishment” and “Liberal” Whites in the Negro revolution and predicts massive confrontation of Black and White….
The Negro Mood is a book by Lerone Bennett Jr. (1928–2018), African-American scholar, author, social historian, and long-time executive editor of Ebony magazine. First published in 1964 by Johnson, this is the cover of Ballantine’s paperback edition from 1965 (U5045).
The text is set in Bulletin Typewriter, mostly in all caps, and spiced up with a mix of Zephyr and Gem for the title. Lines and individual words are shown in cut out strips, possibly in reference to ticker tape, alluding to the urgency of the matter. Cover artist unknown.
