Founded by Edwin Krauter in Chicago in the early 1930s, Lettering, Inc. was among the first custom photo lettering composition services available. Ray Baker worked for Lettering, Inc. [Sandler] Around 2010, Stuart Sandler acquired the trademark and assets and started digitizing some of the designs.
