Originally designed by Alessio Leonardi of BuyMyFonts for Berlin’s city “Be Berlin” marketing campaign by Fuenfwerken. The Senate of Berlin held exclusive rights for two years, starting in March 2008. The custom family consisted of BMF Change (Sans Condensed) in 6 weights plus italics, and BMF Change Letter, a semi-serif in 2 weights plus italic, and served as the city’s brand typeface for 12 years.
In Sep. 2022, Fontwerk released a retail version of the sans, now simply named Change and extended to 11 weights plus italics, with support for Latin (incl. Vietnamese), Greek, and Cyrillic.
