A set of ornate concave caps with trifurcated serifs and contour, or double inline. Apparently based on an alphabet drawn and engraved by Jules Girault and reproduced in his Album graphique from 1867. Shown in Photo-Lettering’s Alphabet Thesaurus Vol. 2 (1965) as Queen Victoria, together with a solid variant named Grand Old Coach. Shown in the Solotype Catalog (1992) as Carillon Condensed.
Trefoil Capitals (Paul Lloyd, 2002) and Purcell (Scriptorium, 2010?) are digital interpretations of the same design, but are wider. For the lack of a better option, the sample uses Trefoil Capitals, condensed and adjusted.
