Argent No. 6 Latin is part of a series of historically inspired all-caps typefaces begun in 2007. Work in progress and unreleased.
“A grab bag of inscriptional letters for a range of sizes, Argent started with the maker’s marks on a handful of 19th-century American teaspoons, which clearly were meant to evoke the look of older European hallmarks. In my research, I found a common theme at work in the ‘fancy’ lettering of names of this period — silver hallmarks, American grave markers, product labels, and shop signage of the British Industrial Revolution are all united by a necessarily handmade look and a charming, naïve notion of beautiful, important lettering.” – Joshua Darden
