is a condensed sans distinguished by an ‘R’ with an out-stroke at
its bottom-right, and a flat-topped ‘t’.
“The sizes through ‘Corps 28 (Doppelmittel)’ were cut by Johann
Christian Bauer. Bauer initially presented sizes 10 through 14 as
Neue schmale halbfette Grotesque modern in an 1865 issue
of Journal für Buchdruckerkunst, Schriftgießerei und verwandte
Fächer. That same design is present in sizes 16, 20, and 28
points. The design used for 36 point on up is another typeface

in Stuttgart […] sold this typeface as well. At first they called
