Hatzvi (הצבי, alternative transliterations include
Hatzevi and HaZvi) was designed by Theo
Tzvi Hausmann together with Moshe Spitzer. First cast by the
Jerusalem Type Foundry in a bold weight (Hatzvi) as
their first original design in 1956. Later extended with Light,
Open (1958), and Medium styles. The Open was available in 2
versions, Open (outlined) and White (biline). [Adi Stern, Philipp
Messner] The Medium was created by punchcutter Alfonso Ayuso, and
