Sztos “is a remix of one of the most famous grotesques used in Poland – Baccarat (published by Jan Idźkowski i S-ka in 1922).” [Machalski] Designed between 2018 and 2022 by Mateusz Machalski with support from Małgorzata Bartosik and Karol Mularczyk. Comes in Normal (wide) and Condensed widths, both in ten weights with upright and italic styles.

Baccarat was the name used by Idźkowski for an amalgamation of various wide styles from Edel-Grotesk / Aurora-Grotesk VI–VII, Annonce / Aurora-Grotesk V, and Industria Gravur [Reichardt 2011]. Styles of regular width were named Helios.
