A high contrast, extra condensed slab initially made as wood type. Very similar to French Antique, but with bracketing. Shown by William H. Page & Co as No. 117 and by Morgans & Wilcox in a slightly wider XX Condensed. See also the wider, lower contrast French Clarendon (wood).
