Established by James Edward Hamilton (as Hamilton Holly Wood Type Co) in 1880. “By mid-1909 Hamilton had … the lion’s share of wood type production in North (and South) America.” [Shields] The type is now housed at the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum which issues digital revivals under the Hamilton Wood Type Foundry label.
