Introduced as part of Apple’s WatchKit in November 2014 and later renamed San Francisco Compact, this version of San Francisco has flatter sides and looser letterspacing. It was designed for the small confines and glancing legibility requirements of Apple Watch, but the company also uses it for corporate identity purposes and on some hardware.

The family has 6 Text weights with italics, and 9 Display weights without italics. All upright styles have small caps.

San Francisco Compact is licensed to registered Apple developers for exclusive use in Apple operating systems.
