Designed in 1969. Listed in a ca. 1972 specimen by Churchward International Typefaces as Churchward, in 4 weights of increasing width, in upright and italic styles. A ca. 1974 specimen has 6 weights plus italics; Elongated Extreme, Elongated, Ultra Condensed, Condensed, Bold, Bold Black. [Bennewith] 4 weights plus italics are shown in Berthold’s E1 (1974) and E3 (1982) catalogs as Churchward 69. The design year was apparently added to distinguish the typeface from Churchward Design (70).
