I’ve got a couple of those books (second-hand) when I was a child (some day I’d like to collect the whole collection); I remember being amazed by these books’ typesetting.
On the inside one can find beautiful examples of Caslon (body), Futura (headings), Perpetua (main section titling) among other typefaces (writing this from memory). Ah, nostalgia…
