A reader points out that President Barack Obama’s new typeface is Revolution Gothic, a style inspired by retro Cuban propaganda posters.
More striking to me than the name of the font, and even its tenuous Cuban connections, was how ugly this poster is.
Obama shoulda used WPA type. If people don’t associate font with Cuba, the controversy is moot.
