Vampiros Lesbos Sexadelic Dance Party album art
Intrigued by the vintage record covers with Motter Ombra on this very website I explored the Motter website and checked out some of the luscious variants. One of them was instantly familiar to me — Motter Femina — the one used for the titling on this sizzling cover for the soundtrack compilation Vampiros Lesbos Sexadelic Dance Party released in 1995 by excellent specialist label Crippled Dick Hot Wax!
The tunes on this soundtrack album are in fact a “best of” compilation of tunes composed by Siegfried Schwab and Manfred Hübler from their albums Psychedelic Dance Party (1969) and Sexadelic (1970).
The films Vampyros Lesbos (1971), She kills in ecstasy (1971) and the The devil came from Akasava (1971) all share tunes from this collection. Besides their soundtrack these films also share the same director, Jesús “Jess” Franco, and a few cast members (most notably the stunning Soledad Miranda, as seen here on the cover).
Toner van Bach is listed in the liner notes of this album as the one responsible for art work.
