For its new exhibition, the Jeu de Paume wanted to offer a mainstream publication that would showcase the work of Albert Renger-Patzsch, one of the major German photographers. Bureau Brut choose a wide format (22×31 cm/8.66×13″), which allowed them to put the black and white pictures in the spotlight, as the core of the layout.

Conceived as a companion to the exhibition, it follows the same path and gives the reader details and comments on the displayed pieces. The geometrical sans serif Dr, designed by the studio, was chosen for the setting of titles and pull quotes inside the book, echoing the 60s era, as well as Futura, used for the main text.
