SYFY is an American TV channel dedicated to all things science fiction, fantasy, and supernatural horror. To empower the SYFY brand to embrace the entire sci-fi genre, loyalkaspar took an “editorial-first” approach that unifies messaging with visual design, giving the brand a clear voice and perspective that effortlessly lives across all platforms. Typography is central in this cross-platform editorial system, calling for the creation of two custom typefaces, SYFY Hero and SYFY Sidekick, produced by loyalkaspar with the help of Font Bureau. In addition, we worked with Grilli Type to customize their beautiful and genre-appropriate Cinetype.
SYFY Hero picks up on core characteristics of the logo, reflects the proportions of a headline font and feels at home across the entire genre universe.
