Omnes is the typeface chosen for the identity of Pontio, Bangor University’s Arts Bangor University’s Arts and Innovation Centre. The logo is in Omnes Medium. The spacing was tightened and the dot lowered to make it more compact.
Being located in Wales, all of Pontio’s communication is bilingual, in Welsh and English. The orthography of the former is characterized by the double-letter digraphs dd, ff, and ll. Together with the rather high frequency of w and y and their diagonals, this yields a unique visual appearance. It’s great to see that Omnes can lend its grace to this internationally less commonly seen language, too.
The rounded sans serif by Darden Studio is consistently used for everything from the logo to the website. The Omnes family also appears in monthly program brochures where it serves both for headlines and body text.
The graphics for Pontio’s food and drink options combine white caps from Omnes with polygons that represent another basic ingredient of the visual identity.
Detail from the program. Both languages are set in Omnes Regular. The Welsh word images may look a little different, but Omnes maintains its simpatico feel. The secondary typeface used for the date is Myriad.
