A modernist drama based on the Battle of the Boyne, directed by Kwasie Boyce.
For the design concept, we were given the script and we interpreted it, creating a piece that was a modernist take on the historical event of 1690.
We used imagery of Pomponious Mela, a sculpture by artist Jason Ellis, photographed by Ros Kavanagh, symbolising conflict and division, and as a visual juxtaposition of a ‘classic’ historical event that had been given a contemporary interpretation. We created the identity for the play, flyers, posters and brochure.
