Rōnin Recordings RR002: Hysteresis
Our friends from Rōnin Recordings (see also this post) are ready for their second release: RR002 / Hysteresis by Rodolfo Cruz, a Mexican producer and audio engineer based in Los Angeles, California. They want to keep the visual language from the last release, but this time with an ethic mexican touch. We got inspired by the intro of one of the most classic movies in history: Psycho, and also by the meaning of the word “Hysteresis” (the dependence of the state of a system on its history). Using a graphic as the principal element of the art, we also took the magnetic force concept from the Hysteresis effect to complete the visual elements used in the rest of the identity.
The typography combines Monument Grotesk Regular by ABC Dinamo, with Nocturne Serif by Mateusz Machalski. The name of the recording studio is set in Benoît Bodhuin’s Elastik.
